The story
An event of blues, jazz and young talents that combines art, ethics, and training for an evening of great music and solidarity. All proceeds will be entirely donated to the Villa Russiz Foundation.
Great Blues meets charity. The historical setting of Villa Russiz, the noble heart of the Gorizia Collio, will host an extraordinary concert on Friday, July 24, 2026, starting at 8:00 PM. European bluesman Mike Sponza will join the young and talented Jazz Punt Big Band with Chamber String Orchestra "Forma Musica" from Tolmin (Slovenia) for an event that combines music, solidarity, and education.
This international and special evening dedicated to art and charity will see its proceeds entirely donated to the Fondazione Villa Russiz, which has been active for over a century in providing educational assistance to disadvantaged children.
The protagonists of the concert-event will be guitarist and singer Mike Sponza and the Jazz Punt Big Band. Guitarist, composer, and producer, Mike Sponza has been one of the leading names in European blues for years. A refined and experimental artist, he has graced Europe's most prestigious stages and recorded four times at Abbey Road Studios in London.
The Jazz Punt Big Band is a Slovenian youth orchestra directed with enthusiasm and expertise: a virtuous example of how music can be an educational, social, and creative language.
"This evening," anticipates Mike Sponza, "is not just a musical event: it is a concrete gesture of solidarity. The funds raised will support the activities of Fondazione Villa Russiz, which since 1877 has been dedicated to the reception, education, and growth of children without family support."
